The Malia Bay Hotel was constructed in the 1980s as a resort, facing Malia Bay and adjacent to the Minoan summer palace. The twin bees, a well-known artifact excavated from the palace, inspired the hotel’s logo. The hotel has undergone several expansions and renovations over the years, with the most recent being the winter 2022 renovation. As a result of this, all rooms have had their services refreshed, superior rooms were completely renovated, and many common areas were redesigned and upgraded to provide the best possible service to guests. The hotel offers several accommodation option to choose from. Guests can combine the view from a terrace or balcony with the setup of the room, enjoy a view to the rich Mediterranean gardens or to the shimmering Cretan sea and choose the room type that suits their needs. The hotel consists of 178 rooms spread over different floors and buildings, separated into 2 room types, standard and superior, and each type is distinguished by its view and a Junior Suite with Sea View. Furthermore, a restaurant with interior and exterior parts and 2 bars, the lobby bar and the pool bar. A receptionist will always be available to welcome and help guests during their accommodation, as the department is 24h available. Moreover, a business office where guests can print/scan anything needed is available by reception. Finally, a specially modified area for meeting up to 50 pax is available for free.
